Shropshire Pubs

Of the many Shropshire pubs that I’ve spent so much of my time in over the years, I have the fondest memories of The Fox Inn, in Much Wenlock.

The Fox is located at the top of the Much Wenlock High Street, and is recognisable by its renowned double-sided flight of steps. The pub is very nicely laid out, with a large and welcoming bar, plenty of seating and some relaxing sofas next to the glorious log fire.

Their selection of beers and wines is vast, and their real ale is a lovely tipple called Hobson Town Crier, brewed in Cleobury Mortimer.

Delicious bar snacks are available on weekday evenings and Saturday lunchtimes including a homemade goats cheese tart, local rump steak and chunky chips, and there’s always a hearty homemade soup of the day with crusty bread to savour.

Starting soon The Fox will be hosting monthly live jazz evenings with an accompanied tapas and paella supper on offer at a great price.

Take my advice and spend an evening at The Fox Inn; you’ll thank me when you do.
